ICISF-Canada is pleased to offer the ICISF Courses: “Assisting Individuals in Crisis” and “Group Crisis Intervention” taught by experienced ICISF Approved Instructors Jeff Sych and Malcolm McNeill as part of the development of the Alberta Critical Incident Peer Network. The Alberta Critical Incident Peer Network is a peer-driven, peer-led network of ICISF CISM-trained peers. This volunteer network delivers real-time support to individuals, crews, or departments exposed to critical incidents and exhibiting the signs and symptoms of distress.
Basic Training in ICISF CISM hosted by a SPHIFR Grant. This is a four-day course for frontline emergency service personnel interested in being part of a provincial Peer Support network and is designed to teach participants the fundamentals of, and a specific protocol for, incident assessment, strategic planning, individual (one-on-one) crisis intervention techniques, informational group crisis techniques, and interactive group crisis techniques.

Application for registration is limited to FRONTLINE emergency service personnel in Alberta interested in adding to or developing an integrated CISM Team for their emergency service organization and becoming part of the provincial peer support network ACIPN. Instructors have the right to decline registration to any participant who does not meet the criteria.
*A $100.00 application fee will be charged to cover the cost of lunches each training day. This fee must be paid in full to “ICISF-Canada” to confirm a seat in the course and can be paid online on the Eventbrite page for registering. A grant covers all other training costs.
